Human sexuality is not limited to genitality, and its ultimate purpose is the reduction of tension. This was Freud’s first major discovery, leading to a redefinition of the origin of neurotic symptoms and many psychic illnesses, previously considered of organic origin.

With this Conference we want to stimulate reflection on violence in all its manifestations, but above all to give back to psychoanalysis its prerogative of an instrument for investigation and understanding unconscious and individual roots of these behaviours. Furthermore, psychoanalysis is a method of treatment that allows to reduce aggressive impulses and alleviate the resulting suffering.
